Consumer and Enterprise GPUs
For the purpose of licensing Alea GPU classifies GPUs either as consumer or enterprise GPUs:
Consumer GPU: GeForce, Quadro, NVS
Enterprise GPU: Telsa, Grid, Mobile, e.g. Tegra
The Alea GPU Community Edition is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
This license allows distribution, remix, tweaking, and building upon Alea GPU, even commercially, as long as QuantAlea is credited for the original creation.
The Community Edition supports a single consumer GPU. It must be detectable as the default GPU, which is the most powerful consumer GPU on that machine. This gives additional flexibility in case the system contains a weak NVIDIA graphics card for display purpose.
The Alea GPU Commercial Edition is required for multiple consumer GPUs or enterprise GPUs. Every system using his edition has to have a license installed. The license installation process is explained here.
